Solar Panels

Solar panels are a device that can be used to absorb the sun’s light rays and convert them into electricity or heat. A solar panel consist out of a collection of solar (or photovoltaic) cells, these solar cells can be used to generate electricity through photovoltaic effect. On the surface of a solar panel you can find the solar cells arranged in a grid like pattern.

Solar panels may also be described as a set of photovoltaic modules, mounted on a structure supporting it. A photovoltaic (PV) module is a packaged and connected assembly of 6×10 solar cells.

Solar panels are very durable devices. This means that solar panels take a long time to wear out. In a year, their effectiveness decreases only about one to two per cent (at times, even less).
