Grid-Tied Solution

As the name implies, a grid-tied solar power system connects to the power grid. Solar energy generated by solar panels are immediately consumed by the appliances that consume electricity at that time and the excess electricity are pushed back into the power grid.

For the majority of homeowners, a grid-connected solar system will be an option to reduce electricity costs.

One of the reasons why it is still worthwhile to stay connected to the power grid is that you can still utilise electricity from the power grid should your Grid-Tied system not generate enough electricity. This could be due to the panels not being exposed to direct sunlight or the solar system might not provide enough energy for your needs at any time during the day or night.

Multi Hybrid Solution

In the solar world the term ‘hybrid’ refers to a combination of solar and energy storage which is also connected to the power grid.

Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as a common grid-tied solar system, but use special hybrid inverters and batteries to store energy for later use. This ability to store energy enables most hybrid systems to also operate as a backup power supply during a power outage.

Off-Grid Solution

An off-grid system is not connected to the electricity grid and therefore requires battery storage. With an off-grid system your solar system is working independently from the power grid.

If there’s a bad storm or a power outage event that knocks out the power in the area, your solar system can continue operating. You won’t notice changes in your service or access to electricity.
